GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION

The 14th Annual Scientific Meeting in Urologic Oncology will be held December 4 – 6, 2013 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. The Society of Urologic Oncology will sponsor this highly interactive meeting where all attendees participate in the discussions led by internationally renowned urologic oncologists, medical oncologists, and scientists. State-of-the-art translational topics on prostate, kidney and bladder cancer, as well as strategies in urologic oncology will be discussed. This year’s meeting will also feature a Biomarkers of Prostate Cancer symposium on Wednesday prior to the start of the meeting. More information on the course and registration can be found below.

Membership in the Y.U.O. Section of the Society of Urologic Oncology consists of fellows, scientists and board certified or eligible physicians who are members of the SUO and have some post-residency training in urologic oncology. Membership is limited to the first seven years after completion of fellowship.

SPOREs

Description: On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, the day before the official start of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO) Winter Meeting, the NCI Prostate SPOREs (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) along with the SUO will present a workshop on “Biomarkers of Prostate Cancer Aggressiveness.” The Workshop will be held at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel and will focus on the biomarkers in the early management of prostate cancer, i.e., biomarkers for early detection and those measured at time of diagnosis of localized disease based on blood, urine, biopsy tissue and imaging. The objective will be to explore whether and how these biomarkers should be incorporated into clinical practice, including the types of studies and clinical trials to retrospectively and prospectively evaluate and validate them. Exhibitors from industry that have products for measuring these biomarkers will be invited to display their products at the Bethesda North Conference Center. The co-chairs of this meeting are William J. Catalona, MD, Robert E. Reiter, MD, MBA, and Peter T. Scardino, MD, representing the SPOREs and Daniel W. Lin, MD, W. Marston Linehan, MD, and Surena F. Matin, MD, representing the SUO.

Early Registration Deadline
Meeting registration forms must be received by the SUO Executive Office by 11/6/13 to receive the discounted early registration rate. All forms received after this deadline will be assessed the regular registration fee.

Registration Cancellation & Refund Policy
Registration refund requests must be submitted in writing to the SUO Executive Office by 11/4/13. All refund requests will be subject to a $50.00 processing fee. No refunds will be made after 11/4/13.
